About the Book

In this book  the politics is treated in his diverse aspects (but not in all aspects). The contents of his 27 chapters will be exhibited below  1st chapter which is an introduction to the matter: concept and table of politics in six axes (political center-state, political forces and markets, synthetic categories, world politics, interaction of politics with other areas of society, historical process and systems), evolution of the political science. From 2d to 4th chapters concern the study of the systems or regimes in an historical perspective. 2nd chapter: traditional society and politics-state, political history summaries of the traditional ages. 3d chapter: modern society and politics-state, typology of his regimes, comparison between democracy and anti-democratic regimes. 4th chapter: modern systems by stages of development (socio-economical, societal-cultural, political) and by socio-economic orders, political history summaries of the long periods in modern age (the antecedent of New-Age, from 1770’s to 1870’s, periods of 1875-1914 and 1914-45, of 1945-90 and since 1990, in every case world system, West and East, Third-World). From 5th to 8th chapters concern the political center-state. 5th chapter: organigramme of political center-state, concepts of power, legitimacy, constraint, formulas of legitimation in traditional and modern societies. 6th chapter: concept, process, modes and criterias of ruling, public realm and bureaucracy. 7th chapter: elements of the state’s center (parliament, government and president, dictatorial group, leadership, monarchy, etc) and his functions, rule-regulation (societal and statist) and constitution,. 8th chapter: functions and poliical role of the army, military interventionnism and his causes, military factor on the West, East and Third World. From 9th to 16th chapters concern the political forces,markets and attitudes  9th chapter: functions, organization and activities, systems of political parties, political currents (on the left-right axis), historical evolution of the party phenomenon. 10th chapter: struggle for power and socio-political forces and blocs, to influence the power and pressure groups. 11th chapter: elites, mechanisms, theories and species, elites in different types of society. 12th chapter: concept of ideology (conception of world and project of society, ideological order of society ideological politics), as principal ideologies liberalism, nationalism, traditionalism-conservatism-authoritarianism, socialism, kemalism (in every case thematic and evolution). 13th chapter: actors of public opinion (his formers and the spectator mass), problems of country, society and world discussed in the public opinion. 14th chapter: participation and political participation, electoral phenomenon, sociology of elections and voters’ choices, analysis of Turkish elections in the multiparty period (since 1946). 15th chapter: mobilized politics and socio-political movements, sociology of revolutions, revolutins from traditional ages to New-Age and in the modern age (liberal, national, socialist, new revolutions). 16th chapter: political attitudes, their constancy and transformation, economical, social and demographical, societal, cultural, socio-psychological, political, temporal and territorial determinants of them.

From 17th to 20th chapters concern the world politics and regimes. 17th chapter: the world system (his integration and powers’ structure) and its historical process (from New-Age to 21th century globalization),  the nation-state, his substrate nation formation and their historical process 18th chapter: military, natural and demographical, economical, political, cultural sources of national powerfulness, history of the war (traditional ages, New-Age, 19th century, p eriod of two wars, since 1945). 19th chapter: West and East in the period of two wars, fascism, communism, period since 1945 and Western democracy. 20th chapter: Third-World societies and politics, his regimes and authoritarianism/restricted democratization, political life since 1945 by his regions (Asia, Middle-East, Africa, Latin America).  From 21th to 27th chapters concern the relationships between politics and other fields of society. 21th chapter: politics in the theories of society (founders of sociology, marxism, functionalism-structuralism, behavioralism, system analysis, theories of development). 22th chapter: technical and economical structure, economical power, economical development and his vectors, economical conditions and their indicators, economical and social policies and programmes, discussion over socio-economical order, as economical determinants of the politics. 23th chapter: social cleavages and concept of class, marxist theory of class and his critique, politics of classes, classist character of politics. 24th chapter: analysis of the culture, interaction between culture and politics, political culture and subcultures, religion and politics in the Judeo-Christian and Islamic traditions, in the modern age. 25th chapter: interaction between politics and diverse aspects of the societal organization and relations (socialization, conflict and concordance, small groups, institutionalization, center and periphery, social change and valuableness). 26th chapter: determination by  natural conditions as climate and land (effects on development, international politics, regime and behaviours), politics of natural resources (petrole, coal, forest and others), nomadism. 27th chapter: influential mechanisms of social factors and problems over politics, demographical politics, rural politics and urban politics, shantytown politics, young-old dualiy and political tendencies, socio-economy and politics of women. In the conclusion five axes of the political research are distinguished: politcs as structure and activity, politics in the historical process, politics within the social theory, political thought and discussion, technical politics.
